The Huard family has deep roots in Suisse Normande and is a leading name in AOC Calvados. In 2012, Jean François Huard took over the estate after more than twenty years working alongside his grandfather, Michel Huard, preserving the family’s knowledge and style. They farm 15 hectares of orchards with around 18,000 apple trees across 20 varieties.
The cider ferments slowly for eight months, is single distilled in a traditional still, and aged in old barrels, including large foudres and 400-liter casks. Much is bottled as single vintage, with bottles filled to order so the spirit remains in cask until sale. The result is refined, beautifully balanced Calvados — elegant and complex, with pure fruit and a true expression of Normandy’s terroir.
