Situated in Monthélie, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Darviot-Perrin has been producing wines from prime vineyards in Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet and Volnay since 1989. The fruit of the marriage of Didier Darviot and his wife Geneviève (née Perrin), the domaine has numerous Premier Cru holdings. There are perhaps two that are consistently in a class of their own: Les Perrières, widely regarded as the first amongst equals of Meursault Premiers Crus, and Les Blanchots-Dessus, historically part of Le Montrachet Grand Cru.

The quality of the wines, which can arguably hold their own against their Grand Cru neighbours, is largely due to the age of the vines. Sixty years old on average, these deep-rooted old vines regulate their own yield, delivering small, complex fruit. Organically farmed for the past quarter century, the estate converted to biodynamic viticulture in 2019, coinciding with the arrival of the next generation, Didier and Geneviève’s son, Pierre-Antonin.

Wines from Domaine Darviot-Perrin are all about purity, precision and an underlying sense of energy. They have traditionally been bottled later than their contemporaries, often spending two years on the lees. They age magnificently and are, quite simply, spellbinding. Bright and fresh, they are true expressions of their terroir.
